Monday 22nd June, 1.00pm - Carol Decker: My Mixtape

Carol Decker, the rich-voiced redhead of internationally successful 80s pop rock outfit T’Pau picks the tunes that go kapow for her. There are tributes to those she has toured with, with songs from Nik Kershaw, Bryan Adams and bessie mates the Bananarama girls. And then there are tracks like ‘Billie Jean’ from Michael Jackson and ‘All Night Long’ from Lionel Ritchie that get her toe-tapping, and those that turn her on, such as ‘Enter Sandman’ from the leather trousered heavy metallers Metallica. It’s a genre mash up of a My Mixtape!

Tuesday 23rd June, 10.30pm - Neil McCormick’s Needle Time: Steve Hackett

He superglues his nails to use as a pick and he plays til his arm is numb – the pleasure and the pain of being a prog rock guitar legend is revealed in Needle Time by Steve Hackett of Genesis fame. Hank Marvin and Hendrix were his heroes, but he is just as obsessive about Handel, and loved baroque as well as the blues. Hear the fascinating life story of this maverick and influential musician whose first guitar at the age of 13 was like a Harley Davidson to him.

Wednesday 24th June, 1.00pm - James Toseland: My Mixtape

Eagles hit ‘Life in the Fast Lane’ was a must in the mixtape selection of this double world Superbike champion, who spent two decades as a speed fiend before forming and fronting eponymous rock band Toseland. Other artists and bands on his heavy duty hit list are Queen, Led Zeppelin – introduced to him by his singer songwriter wife Katie Melua – and Aerosmith, a legendary outfit which he has been thrilled to support on tour.

Wednesday 24th June, 10.30pm - The Janice Long Review Show

Melodic, soft and alt rock on two absolute classics are the treats in store for our album reviewers this week. Steve Strange, the face of 80s band Visage, Mark Morriss of The Bluetones and Ian Peel, editor of Classic Pop magazine are the opinion-toting trio and ‘Rumours’ by Fleetwood Mac, released to great acclaim in 1977, and REM’s ‘Automatic for the People’, a zeitgeist soundtrack to the early 90s, are the albums up for scrutiny.

NEW! Thursday 25th June, 8.00pm - The Vintage TV Sessions

It’s a spectacular line-up as comedienne Jenny Eclair introduces more musical crème-de-la-crème for The Vintage TV Sessions. Taking to the stage at the Tabernacle this month, for performances and a mini interview apiece, are singer Katrina Leskanich of the effervescent Katrina and the Waves, Fine Young Cannibal Roland Gift, iconic two-tone ska revivalists The Selecter and acclaimed Americana and country folk duo Balsamo Deighton. Sweet!

Saturday 27th June, 7.30pm - Live With… Glenn Tilbrook

We’re going ‘Up the Junction’ for the debut airing of our exciting new show, with cool cat Glenn Tilbrook. On ‘Live With…’, kicking off with the lead singer and guitarist of beloved English pop, rock and new wave outfit Squeeze, and a successful solo artist to boot, we are inviting top artists to perform exclusively for Vintage TV. Glenn will be singing several songs including ‘Persephone’ and ‘Ray’.

Sunday 28th June, 5.00pm - Twiggy: My Vintage

Mini-skirted with a cute crop, Twiggy epitomised the swinging Sixties. And this model, actress and singer has been a darling of stage and screen ever since. But that’s not to say she doesn’t get starstruck, she reveals on this week’s episode of My Vintage. In her top song collection are tracks from her musical heroines Dolly Parton and Joni Mitchell, both of whom she was thrilled and over-awed to meet. There is a Johnny Mathis number for her much-missed dad, and Lady Gaga brings her bang up to date.
