Mistresses, reveals her life through her favourite songs for My Mixtape. She grew up listening to Joni Mitchell and chooses her ‘Free Man In Paris’, and Madonna’s ‘Music’ always make her laugh and dance. For “ultimate cheese” it had to be Lionel Ritchie’s ‘All Night Long’, and for romantic reasons John Martyn’s ‘May You Never’.

NEW! Tuesday 14th July, 10.30pm - Neil McCormick’s Needle Time: Randy Bachman

Originally recorded as a joke for his brother who had a stutter, ‘You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet’, written by rock legend Randy Bachman, went on to hit the number one spot in 22 countries. This is just one of the fascinating anecdotes from the incredible musical journey of this songwriter and lead guitarist of bands including Bachman-Turner Overdrive and The Guess Who who is Neil McCormick’s guest this week. Find out how a chart-topping anti war song at the time of Vietnam came about too.

Bringing a post-punk vibe to this latest brilliant batch of live sessions is Brix Smith Start of The Fall fame, who is on hosting duties at The Tabernacle. Saturday 18th July, 7.00pm - Live With… Fairport Convention

This is quite the coup here for Vintage TV, with a live session from the seminal and influential English folk rock and electric folk band that is regarded as the most important in the genre’s history. Heck, they may even have invented the genre! Anyway, we are honoured to welcome Fairport Convention to the Crypt Studios, where they will perform songs from their vast back catalogue, spanning five decades, including ‘Myths and Heroes’, ‘Matty Groves’ and ‘The Gallivant’. It’s must-see TV, obviously!
