Sunday 14th July, 5.30pm - Michael Bradley: My Vintage (and Wednesday 17th July at 11pm)

In October 1978, British viewers got their first glimpse of The Undertones; five likely lads from Northern Ireland who created some of the most sublime pop music ever made. The Undertones were influenced by the angry anarchy of punk. However, theirs was a different kind of rebellion. They sang of girls, mummy’s boys and their adolescent frustrations. They created a perfect, timeless soundtrack to youth and young adulthood for teenagers all over the globe. Coming from Londonderry, a city troubled by violent civil unrest, they remarkably created music that focused on - and celebrated - the trivialities of growing up. It was a unique and wonderful kind of protest. Join Michael Bradley, bassist of Northern Irish Punk legends, The Undertones, for a playlist of his favourite vintage tracks. Expect hits from the ‘Stones, ’Pistols and Ramones.
