Sunday 17th November, 5.00pm - Paul Young: My Vintage (and Thursday 21st November at 10pm)

As the purveyor of brilliant blue-eyed soul to make you swoon and smooch, Paul Young – the 80s heart-throb who would make his home wherever he laid his hat - had that decade all sewn up, and it is not surprising there are some soul greats in his top record picks; a fair few surprises too, though, in this collection which takes in everything from Santana to The Stones.

Sunday 17th November, 8.00pm -The Janice Long Review Show (and Wednesday 20th November at 10pm)

The debut album that introduced new fusion genre ‘trip hop’ – Massive Attack’s introspective and innovative ‘Blue Lines’ – and the epic chart-topper ‘The Seeds of Love’ by 90s giants Tears for Fears, are the two offerings up for analysis this week by Janice’s guests, singer songwriter Nerina Pallot, punk rocker and writer John Robb and journalist Paul Sexton.

Tuesday 19th November, 10.00pm - Neil McCormick’s Needle Time: Lulu (and Saturday 23rd November at 7pm)

The Beatles told her that ‘Shout’ was their favourite song, David Bowie wanted to work with her, and her career, which began as a 14-year-old in the 60s, has spanned five decades: the lovely Lulu tells interviewer Neil what it was like to be a child star on the road, how record companies didn’t know what to do with her, and how she has found her voice again in intimate gigs of rootsy soul.

Wednesday 20th November, 7.30pm - Vintage TV at Rewind 2013 (and Friday 22nd November at 5.30pm)

Janice Long catches up with awesome acts from the 80s to bring you two more backstage interviews from this summer’s Rewind festival - Matt Bianco, whose ‘Get Out of Your Lazy Bed’’ and other infectious songs brought lovely jazz-lite Latin-flavoured vibes to the decade, and long-lasting and beloved British reggae group Aswad, whose UK number one ‘Don’t Turn Around’ was one of many hits from an incredible 21 albums.
