Monday 23rd June, 2.00pm - Kierston Wareing: My Mixtape
Everything from old school hip hop, early Madonna and Vera Lynn’s ‘We’ll Meet Again’ feature in the My Mixtape song choices of Kierston Wareing. The former EastEnders actress also shows her love of stories through songs, such as Tracey Chapman’s ‘Fast Car’ and Alanis Morissette’s ‘Ironic’, and reveals which Simon and Garfunkel classic gives her goosebumps.
Tuesday 24th June, 10.30pm - Neil McCormick's Needle Time: Mark King
Owner of the most famous thumb in pop, bassist and vocalist Mark King of 80s giants Level 42, is ‘Living it Up’ with interviewer Neil on Needle Time. He reveals how his first passion was the drums but he later popularised a slap style of bass in his hugely successful jazz funk music, tapping into a new sound and driving the groove on hits such as ‘Living in the Family’ and ‘Lessons in Love’.
Wednesday 25th June, 10.30pm - The Janice Long Review Show
Synth specialist Paul Hardcastle, Radio 2's Alex Lester and the soulful Garry Christian join Janice to chat about The Stranglers - La Folie and Speed of Life, by The Christians.
Thursday 26th June, 8.00pm - The Vintage TV Sessions
Barefooted chanteuse Sandie Shaw will be bringing her natural charm to our Vintage TV Sessions, introducing five more live acts. And bringing all the atmosphere of a gig to your pad are performances by 80s new wave queen Hazel O’Connor, American blues singer Jonny Lang, folk rock duo The Rails, Swedish songstress Ninsun and Irish musician McMahon.
Thursday 26th June, 10.30pm - Andy Fairweather Low: My Vintage
He was ‘Wide Eyed and Legless’ in the 1970s and this veteran Welsh singer songwriter, guitarist and producer has been on the music scene, in his own right and collaborating with the likes of Eric Clapton and Bill Wyman, for the past five decades; here he picks the tracks – from The Stones to The Searchers – that bring sunshine to his soul.
Friday 27th June, 2.00pm - Peter Andre: My Mixtape
He penned a hit song to while away the time in the ‘I’m A Celebrity…’ jungle, but what records would Peter Andre take to a desert island? The former heart-throb popster and star of reality TV, now a performer and presenter, is in the Vintage TV studio putting together his ultimate song collection for My Mixtape.
Friday 27th June, 10.00pm - The Vintage TV Sessions
Must-see shows on the Vintage TV calendar, these live sessions offer all the excitement and atmosphere of a gig in your own home. So, sit back and enjoy two songs each, recorded at The Bedford pub in Balham, from indie rockers The Struts, punk princess Toyah Willcox and her band, singer songwriters Josephine and Judie Tzuke, of ‘Stay With Me ‘Til Dawn’ fame , and 80s icon Nik Kershaw. Veteran musician, broadcaster and campaigner Tom Robinson is your esteemed host.
Sunday 29th June, 5.00pm - Toyah and Robert: My Vintage
She’s our Vintage TV presenter and princess of punk and he’s played with Bowie and Blondie and is one of the world’s greatest guitarists. Now Toyah Willcox and her musician, composer and record producer husband Robert Fripp, of prog rockers King Crimson, invite us into their Worcestershire home for a joint My Vintage, giving a fascinating and intimate insight into the records they are both passionate about and telling the tales behind their top tracks. What a couple! What a coup for My Vintage!
