Saturday 25th May, 7pm - Neil McCormick's Needle Time
Ron Sexsmith has collaborated with many renowned artists, including Chris Martin and Leonard Cohen and a version of his ‘Whatever It Takes’ was featured on Michael Bublé’s 2009 album ‘Crazy Love’. He counts Elvis Costello, Sir Paul McCartney, Sheryl Crow and Sir Elton John amongst his famous fans, many of whom have covered his work, and his track ‘Secret Heart’ has been recorded by Rod Stewart, Feist and Nick Lowe. In this episode of Needle Time, Neil catches up with the acclaimed Canadian singer-songwriter to discuss his early influences, his songwriting style and how Elvis Costello's intervention kept his career on track.

She takes us back to her bedsit in Bayswater and Johnny Mathis on the radiogram, to the stages where she performed with Tom Jones, and to the breakfast table she shared with Dusty Springfield. Looking back at her youth as a sweetheart of the Swinging Sixties and to the future and her key role in The Casebooks Of Verity Lake, Anita introduces a string of classic tracks, including hits from Tony Christie, Fred Astaire, Adam Faith, Dean Martin and Doris Day.

Monday 27th May, 11pm - Arthur Brown: My Vintage
He is the man we have to thank for Alice Cooper, Peter Gabriel, Marilyn Manson, Kiss, and of course for his UK and Canada number one hit, the incendiary ‘Fire’, in 1968. Come into the Crazy World of rock’s inimitable showman Arthur Brown, whose selection of vintage tracks ranges from Elvis Presley and Nina Simone to Supertramp.
Tuesday 28th May, 10pm - Neil McCormick's Needle Time (and Saturday 1st June at 7pm)
In this episode of Needle Time, Neil talks Roy Orbison, Frankie Valli, Jools Holland and Neil Morrisey with none other than 60s pop princess, and the first UK act to win the Eurovision Song Contest in 1967, Sandie Shaw. Sandie and Neil take a look back at the singer’s youth, her desire to see the world and her early intention to join the armed forces. Sandie relives her early teens as a factory worker dreaming of stardom, recalls her determination to make it on her own as a woman in a man’s world, producing all her own records herself, and charts the intriguing arc of a lifelong career in pop.
Tuesday 28th May, 11pm - Michael Ball: My Vintage
Renowned concert artist, musical theatre actor and broadcaster Michael Ball selects the songs that have inspired him most throughout his prolific career, sharing with us the very special attachments they have to some of his most precious memories. Michael’s playlist features some seriously stirring vocalists (and Benny Hill…), including Adele, Whitney, Barbra, Cher, Kate Bush, Katie Melua and even a track by the man himself. Genesis, Queen, Katie Melua and Fairground Attraction also take their places in an extraordinarily eclectic list.
Thursday 29th May, 11pm - Tom McGuinness: My Vintage
Manfred Mann’s Tom McGuinness chronicles the history of 20th Century music as he flits from the pumping piano boogie of 50s Jerry Lee Lewis to the evocative guitar playing of 90s Eric Clapton. Tune in for Bill Hayley& His Comets’ ‘See You Later Alligator’, Eddie Cochran’s ‘C’mon Everybody’, John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’ and Tina Turner’s ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’.
