Saturday 27th July, 7.00pm - Neil McCormick’s Needle Time: Fran Healy

Travis’ frontman and the singer-songwriter behind UK chart-topping album 'The Invisible Band', opens up on an ecclectic range of topics - from being big in Japan and the joys of fatherhood, to the loss of innocence and the unlikely inspiration behind seasonal sing-a-long 'Why Does It Always Rain on Me?'  

 

Sunday 28th July, 5.30pm - Mark Ellen: My Vintage (and Wednesday 31st July at 11pm)

The award-winning journalist, editor and broadcaster - and one-time bassist in Tony Blair's Ugly Rumours at Oxford University - on how he thrills to Bob Marley, is charmed by The Smiths, in love with Cindy Wilson of the B52s, and 'nostalgic for the future' with Kraftwerk, as he relives iconic songs from his past.

 

Monday 29th July, 11.00pm - The Janice Long Review Show

Janice is joined by music critic Neil McCormick, Michael Bradley from The Undertones and Ocean Colour Scene's Simon Fowler to enthuse over, analyse and dig up the intriguing stories behind two iconic albums - The Undertones' eponymous 1979 debut offering famously championed by John Peel, and U2's acclaimed 'Achtung Baby' from the 90s.  

 

Tuesday 30th July, 10.00pm - Neil McCormick’s Needle Time: Suzi Quatro

Famed for her raunchy black leathers and string of 70s singles including 'Can the Can' and 'Devil Gate Drive', Suzi Q was the first female bass player to become a star, smashing the glass ceiling of rock and going on to sell 50 million records. Plenty to mull over then as she tells Neil McCormick how she took on the boys at their own game.
