Channel Highlights w/c 7th December

Saturday 7th December, 7.00pm - Neil McCormick’s Needle Time: Future Vintage

Powerful influences from their past seem to have very much shaped the creative output of our three guests this week – American singer songwriter Kat Edmonson, Australia’s Emily Barker and the eponymous frontman of folk, rock and soul outfit Danny Wilson and The Champions of The World - who reveal just what has moved them to make music before we hear them 'live'.

Sunday 8th December, 5.00pm - Leee John: My Vintage (and Thursday 12th December at 10pm)

Leee John got us all smoochy with his ‘Body Talk’ in the 80s, now the British singer, musician and one third of soul outfit Imagination reveals the records that get him grooving, from the likes of musical heroes Prince, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and ‘the man’ Michael Jackson.

Sunday 8th December, 8.00pm - The Janice Long Review Show (and Wednesday 11th December at 10pm)

Will it be classic or kitsch plumped for by the guests on our Christmas edition of Janice’s album review show as Matt Goss of Bros, The Feeling frontman Dan Gillespie Sells and legendary soul singer P.P. Arnold unwrap festive favourites from Johnny Mathis and Mariah Carey who both brought out seasonal offerings called ‘Merry Christmas’, albeit almost four decades apart?

Monday 9th December, 9.00pm - A Very Vintage Christmas

Snuggling up by the fireside with our interviewers Toyah Willcox and Roy Wood this week to chat about the magic of Christmas are award-winning pop rock band The Feeling, who perform ‘Feels Like Christmas’ and ‘Fall Like Rain’, and Imagination’s Leee John who brings some soul to the season with his take on ‘O Holy Night’ and ‘The Christmas Song’.

Tuesday 10th December, 10.00pm - Neil McCormick’s Needle Time: Sheila E (and Saturday 14th December at 7pm)

She was on the sticks for Prince and she’s performed with the likes of Marvin Gaye, but drummer and percussionist Sheila E has always lived life to her own beat, she tells interviewer Neil, whether finding her way as a female artist in a mostly male domain, losing herself in music or getting teary-eyed with her musician dad on stage.

Wednesday 11th December, 7.30pm - Vintage TV at Rewind 2013 (and Friday 13th December at 5.30pm)

Skies are blue again and days are long and lazy as we get back in the festival vibe at this summer’s Rewind as stage-side interviewer Janice catches up with performers at the celebration of all things Eighties: Cockney Rebel Steve Harley who is making us smile again, and the electrifying The Orchestra, made up of members from awesome ELO.
