English singer-songwriter Lisa Stansfield recalls the sounds of her generation, introducing some of her all-time jukebox favourites. Reliving her teenage clubbing years, she shares with us why there’s a special place in her heart for Diana Ross, what Chaka Khan and Adele have in common for her and remembers the songs about losing love that have moved her the most. Her eclectic list includes Patsy Cline’s ‘Crazy’, Candi Staton’s ‘Young Hearts Run Free’ and Michael Jackson’s ‘Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough’.
Tuesday 11th June, 10.00pm - Neil McCormick's Needle Time
Lloyd Cole joins Neil for a frank exchange about his musical roots, his respect for Morrissey, and a fear of being marginalized. Neil’s esteemed guest discusses embracing bitter old age and why The Commotions didn’t last, introducing Bob Dylan's 'Tangled Up In Blue', The Smiths 'How Soon Is Now?', Morrissey's 'We Hate It When Our Friends Become Successful' and Lloyd Cole and The Commotions’ ‘Lost Weekend’ in this hour-long talk and music show, featuring Lloyd’s own exclusive acoustic performance of ‘Are You Ready To Be Heartbroken?’.
Friday 14th June, 8.00pm - Nine Years Of Cornbury
Cornbury, on 5th - 7th July, is one-of-a-kind: an eclectic and eccentric musical carnival, lovingly crafted, top-notch and very English. Since its inception in 2004, it has played host to such legendary acts as Jools Holland, Squeeze, Blondie, Amy Winehouse, Paul Simon, Status Quo, Elvis Costello, Robert Plant, The Pretenders, Echo & The Bunnymen and many more besides. Here we look back over nine years of the festival.
Friday 14th June, 11pm - Bev Bevan: My Vintage
Rock maestro extraordinaire and original member of Birmingham-bred The Move and Electric Light Orchestra, Bev Bevan, introduces a toe-tapping, fist-pumping series of all-time classic vintage numbers, featuring Deep Purple’s ‘Smoke On The Water’, Led Zeppelin’s ‘Whole Lotta Love’ and Gene Vincent’s ‘Be-Bop-A-Lula’.
