Crackle and the pop!

As the needle comes down on the vinyl to get us in the mood for more tours of musical backstory with our top guests, interviewer Neil McCormick introduces us to this month’s line-up on his sharp-as-a-tack show Needle Time (10pm Tuesdays, repeated 7pm Saturdays):

 British singer-songwriter of such greats as War Baby and 2-4-6-8 Motorway, Tom Robinson (2nd July); feisty Scottish singer-songwriter K T Tunstall (9th July); American folk duo Shovels & Rope, and singer songwriters Gabrielle Aplin and David Ford (16thJuly); Fran Healy of Scottish band Travis (23rd July); and the first of the great female rockers Suzi Quatro (30th July).
