Linda Gail Lewis: My Vintage

Rockabilly Hall of Famer, Linda Gail Lewis, sister of 'The Killer' rock 'n' roll piano player, Jerry Lee, takes us on a joy-filled ride through her top tracks, from All Shook Up to Jumpin' Jack Flash.

When Jerry Lee Lewis shared his $40,000 'Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On' earnings with his family in 1957, 10-year-old Linda Gail was full of admiration. Just six years' later, she had begun duetting with her brother, a union that was to last decades, in addition to recording with the legendary Van Morrison. Today, this "rockin' red-haired momma from Ferriday, Louisiana" tours incessantly with her roll-a-boogie keyboard style and powerhouse vocals, earning her fans worldwide. Hailed the 'Queen of Rock n' Roll', Linda Gail Lewis' My Vintage selection is, naturally, a must see.

In her bubbly Deep South American accent, Linda Gail entertains with stories of her run-ins with some of music's finest, reliving the 'all shook up' moment she met Elvis and her delight at being on the receiving end of Mick Jagger's lips, as well as giving due praise to those artists who have inspired her through the years, or produced songs that she simply loves to bits.

On the road with her brother, Linda Gail met countless musical legends, enough to make anyone boast and brag, yet she speaks with humility of her admiration for their inimitable talent and ability to entertain. With Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Ray Charles, John Lennon, Bob Dylan and Chuck Berry in her list, among others, it's no wonder. Married 8 times to "only" 7 men, Linda Gail jokes that she "could've done better", as she introduces another favourite – Tammy Wynette's classic, 'Stand By Your Man'.

Linda Gail Lewis pays homage to rock 'n' roll in this My Vintage special. Y'all are in for a ride.
